Job Summary:

A Bases Coordinator is a new hire with little to no knowledge of how EMA functions. They may be competent in AutoCAD or Revit and may even have designed systems at another firm, but they do not know what we do. The Bases Coordinator will be responsible for learning EMA systems and design practices, learning to set up a project, learning the software and learning to keep track of deliverables and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include:

Design

    • Logs and distributes submittals, RFIs and ASIs
    • Set up backgrounds and templates in AutoCAD and/or Revit for every project that enters the office.
    • Update backgrounds in AutoCAD and/or Revit as needed throughout the progress of each project.
    • Prepare/update borders and seals for deliverables.
    • Create AutoCAD floor plans for EMA direct jobs when none are available.
    • Compile AutoCAD and/or Revit files for general contractors once signed disclaimer is received.
    • Upload and deliver check sets and Revit models to our clients using file transfer programs such as Newforma, Project mates, or Dropbox.
    • Print floorplans and complete other various special requests from project managers and administration
    • Become familiar with EMA drafting standards.
    • Learn EMA Core Values and their meaning.
    • Learn the software - AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office - including OneNote.
    • Learn the EMA network (X, Y, Z, W, R)
    • Troubleshoot AutoCAD and Revit issues for designers as needed.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned.    

Communication

    • Learn to communicate questions back to team members, team leader, project manager and clients.
    • Become proactive in communicating/resolving project display issues with project managers and clients before they impact design.
    • Provides status updates for production activities to PM and team leader.

Coordination

    • Assist designers with project needs (Views, Sheets, Schedules, project issues, etc.)

Training

    • Attend training to further study into Revit & CAD capabilities.

Organization

    • Learn to track check sets & deliverables requirements.
    • Learn to track project schedules.

Education/Requirements:

Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Design Technology, Certificate of Proficiency in Computer-Aided Drafting, or equivalent education preferred but not required.
